Meeting Minutes

Present:  Barbara Greenwood, Greg Gorski, Claire Moorhead, Joe Denning, Paul Weston, Leslie Dion

Field Project:  Paul reports that Mike Vignale, Cliff Bertrand and JP met yesterday at Kelley Park to review the project.  They have done the Roundup and let it sit for the two weeks required.

Pavilion:  We have a copy of the plans that Doug Williams submitted to Paul.  Paul said that Doug indicated that he can fully design this with full specifications.  We have two possible scenarios for getting this done:

1. Do full bid process – will take longer than we had wanted
2. Purchase materials at RP Williams and have Doug give specs to 3-4 local contractors for the labor portion.  This will fast track the project and keep the work local.

The Committee would like to ask that the Board of Selectmen waive their purchasing policy for this project so that we can move forward expeditiously. 

We discussed the surface for the inside of the pavilion.  The surface perimeters will remain the same.  Paul will speak with Mark regarding the best way to resurface.  Mark is planning to bring gravel in for around the perimeter of the concession stand.  Joe will talk to Dan Paradis and Michelle regarding the building process.

It was agreed that we will have it stained brown.  Joe suggested that there is a paint that could be used on the cinder block building that is very difficult to vandalize.  Les will check with Doug on this.

Shop N Save proposal:  Greg had submitted a proposal to the Selectboard regarding his donating $2,500 to name the pavilion the ‘Bristol Shop N Save Concert Pavilion’.  The naming rights would last for ten years.  The Selectboard voted favorably to accept the offer.  The sign will be placed on the ball field end of the gable.

Skatepark Equipment:  Leslie said that she does not want to place the equipment until we have signage that will cover our liability.  Paul suggested she contact LGC for verbage.

Other: 

• We need trash barrels for the park – Les will follow up with Mark
• We need a number of benches and picnic tables as well as some new playground equipment – Les & Joe will follow up on this.
