Tapply-Thompson Community Center Happenings
Valentine Lunch for Seniors: The Bristol Rotary Club will be sponsoring a lunch for the Seniors at the Tapply-Thompson Community Center on Thursday, 2/11/10 at noon. There will be Bingo following the luncheon. To register call the TTCC at 744-2713.
Father & Daughter Valentines Dance: This awesome annual event will be held on Friday, February 12th at the Tapply-Thompson Community Center from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. This is open to all ages. The cost is $15/couple and $5 for each additional child. Substitute Dads are welcome. There will be corsages for the girls, contests, prizes and refreshments. Pre-registration is required by 2/9 by calling the TTCC at 744-2713.
Family Night with the Monarch’s!: The TTCC is sponsoring a trip to the Manchester Monarch’s on Friday, February 26th at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The coach bus will depart the TTCC at 5:30 pm for the 7:30 pm game. Cost is $25 and includes transportation and ticket. Call 744-2713 or stop by to register.
Red Cross Babysitter’s Course: This course will be offered during the February vacation break at the TTCC on February 25th from 9 am – 5 pm for ages 11 – 15. The cost is $50. The course teaches the responsibilities and qualities of a good babysitter and what to expect from the person that hires you. Registrations will be taken at the TTCC office. Space is limited.
Adult Pick-Up Basketball: Come out and play on Sundays from 6 – 8 pm at Newfound Memorial Middle School. This program is sponsored by the TTCC and the cost is $1/night.
30+ League Basketball: This new program is offered on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm at the Tapply-Thompson Community Center. The cost is $1/night and you may register at the TTCC.
Indoor Soccer: Adult Indoor Soccer is offered on Monday evenings at the Bridgewater Hebron Village School from 7 – 9 pm. The cost is $1/night and you can register at the TTCC.
Adult Volleyball: This on-going program is offered on Tuesday and Friday evenings at the Bridgewater Hebron Village School from 7 – 9 pm. The cost is $1/night and you can register at the TTCC.
OLD SCHOOL PE – New Program: Come on out & play some of those great Old School games! This is a fun way to meet new people, get some exercise and forget about your worries for a while. Sundays at the TTCC at 6 pm. There is no pressure. No ‘must wins’ or league to conquer. Just fun to be had. Open to anyone 21 & up. Cost is $1/night. Just come on by & play!
Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Class: This course will be offered at the TTCC on February 6th & 20th and March 6th & 20th from 9 am – 3:30 pm. Must attend all classes. The cost is $150 and certification is good for three years. To register call or stop by the TTCC.
TTCC/Project Promise Field Trips: There will be a Movie Night at the TTCC on March 12th and a Paint Your Own Pottery trip to Dynamic Ceramics on April 21st. These activities are for High School students only and cost just $5. For more info call the TTCC.
Ballroom Dancing: Lessons in Ballroom, Latin & Swing are being offered for Beginners to Advanced. New 4-6 week sessions ongoing through June. Classes are held at the TTCC on Mondays & Thursdays. The cost is $65/couple; $35/single & $30/student for 4 week class – six week classes and private lessons are also offered. Saturday Night Live in Bristol!: There will be adult dances open to the public on 1/30, 2/27, 3/27, 4/24 at the TTCC. The fun begins at 7:30 pm with a 1 hour dance lesson taught by Instructor, Juli Pruden. The chem.-free dance goes until 11:30 pm and admission is $10 pp. Music is by “All This For a Song”.
Group Exercise Classes by Lisa Young: These classes are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at the Bristol Elementary School from 6 – 7 pm. Classes are open to all and cost is $5/class. Drop-ins are welcome.
Youth Cal Ripken Baseball & Babe Ruth Softball Registration Open: The TTCC is now accepting registrations for its Baseball & Softball program for ages 4 – 12. There will be a skills assessment held on March 13th for all levels except t-ball. Check out the TTCC website at www.ttccrec.org for more info.
SHADE OF IRELAND TRIP: The TTCC is excited to be partnering with Collette Vacations to bring you a travel opportunity filled with adventure. This trip is booked for November 2 – 11 and will consist of ten days of guided travel through the Irish countryside. Highlights include the Ring of Kerry, Blarney Castle and kissing of the Blarney Stone, and an overnight castle stay on your final night. The cost is $2,449 for double occupancy and includes airfare, lodging, hotel and meals. Check out the link on our website at www.ttccrec.org.
