Assessing Department

Please note: The Town is currently in the process of completing a town-wide revaluation of property. The Assessing Firm, Commerford Nieder Perkins, has visited most properties in 2019 and 2020, however, they will contact those properties still needing information to be updated, to schedule appointments or update information over the phone. The Assessors will be reviewing the data to provide updated values for the Town. Letters will be sent out to notify property owners of the preliminary value and directions on how property owners can discuss that value with the Assessors. Once this process is complete, and any necessary adjustments made, the new values will become final and will be reflected in the final tax bill of the year.

The primary function of the Assessing Department is to ensure that all property within the Town of Bristol is assessed fairly and in accordance with the New Hampshire laws governing property assessment. Assessing conducts various practices to ensure an equitable distribution of the tax. Assessments are based on fair market value of property and are applied in a fair, equitable and consistent manner.
