Cooling Center at Town Office this Week

After consultation with our Emergency Management Director, due to the high temperaturesand humidity predicted for the week, and because there is no other location in Town currently serving in this capacity, the Town Office main meeting room will be available as a cooling center for June 22-26.

The room will be available Noon-4:00pm each day. The entrance to the meeting room is at the far right side of the building.

We will be following the COVID-19 Department of Safety guidelines put out by the State. So we ask visitors do the following:

  • Conduct a self-screening of your health before entering, which is posted on the entry door (Anyone answering yes to any of the questions is asked to not enter the building.)
  • Wear a cloth face covering - If you do not have one, we have disposable masks for use upon entry.
  • Use hand sanitizer after entering.
  • Keep social distancing - tables are set up at a minimum of six-foot intervals.

Cleaning and disinfecting protocols have also been put in place.

If the predicted heat and humidity continues into next week, the room may be made available again.
